Don Magazine and Oharano Studio Gallery invited artists from around the world to submit portfolios for the 2026 Artist Residency Competition. The two selected artists will now receive a free two-week residency in Kyoto, with their work featured in Don Magazine Issue 14, releasing September 20th, 2026.
Kyu Ri Kim’s practice grows from a deep attention to nature, transforming organic materials into works that move between installation, textile, sculpture, photography, video, and performance. We are delighted to welcome her to Oharano, where Kyoto’s quiet landscape will become part of her ongoing exploration of memory, transformation, and the cycles of nature.

Kyuri Kimの制作は、自然への深いまなざしから生まれ、有機的な素材を用いながら、インスタレーション、テキスタイル、彫刻、写真、映像、パフォーマンスへと展開していきます。京都・大原野の静かな風景が、記憶、変容、そして自然の循環をめぐる彼女の探求に新たな響きをもたらすことを楽しみにしています。
