黄注玹｜Juhyun Hwang
釡山を拠点に活動するメディアアーティストとして、AIを活用したデジタルアートワーク（メディアアート／写真）を中心に無意識と記憶の輪郭を探求している。東西大学校実用コンテンツ創作学科兼任教授として在職中であり、BIFA 2020およびTIFA 2018 BookFine Art 部門で受賞歴がある。近年は芸術の殿堂ハンガラム美術館をはじめとする国内外の主要写真フェスティバルや美術館で作品を発表している。今回のレジデンシーの新作《京都記憶の精髄：魂の光として刻まれた時間》は、京都という千年の古都で生きる人々の「記憶の精髄」を視覚化するAIベースの参加型作品である。観客が直接撮影に参加すると、リアルタイムで彼らの姿が透明な頭蓋骨と花に変換される。頭蓋骨は個人性を超えた存在の普遍的本質を、その中に咲く花はそれぞれの固有な人生の物語と美しさを象徴する。肉体は有限だが記憶と経験は物理的形態を超越して永続するという哲学的思考を基に、現在を生きるすべての瞬間がすでに永遠の次元に属するという認識を提示する。京都の重層的時間性の中で個人の存在意味を光として形象化した作業である。
A media artist based in Busan, exploring the contours of the unconscious andmemory through AI-powered digital artworks (media art/photography).
Currently serving as an adjunct professor in the Department of Practical ContentCreation at Dongseo University, with awards from BIFA 2020 and TIFA 2018 Book Fine Art categories. In recent years, works have been presented at majorphotography festivals and museums both domestically and internationally, including the Hangaram Art Museum at the Seoul Arts Center.
The new work from this residency, "Kyoto Essence of Memory: Time Engraved as Light of the Soul," is an AI-based participatory work that visualizes the 'essence of memory' of people living in Kyoto, the ancient capital of a thousand years. When audiences directly participate in photography, their images are transformed in real-time into transparent skulls adorned with flowers. The skulls symbolize the universal essence of existence beyond individuality, while the flowers blooming within represent each person's unique life story and beauty. Based on the philosophical contemplation that while the body is finite, memories and experiences transcend physical form to persist eternally, this work presents the. recognition that every moment of living in the present already belongs to the dimension of eternity. work that visualizes the meaning of individual existence as light within Kyoto's multi-layered temporality.

大原野スタジオギャラリーに滞在する2名のアーティストが中心となり、地域の人々やオープンスタジオに訪れた人々と共に参加型の作品をつくります。 AIアーティストであるJuhyun Hwangは地域住民や訪れた方の顔をスキャンし、それをもとにAIで新しいイメージを生成します。生成された作品はその場で印刷して本人に手渡され、AIを体験する場となります。さらに映像作家であるKim Taehyunがその様子を記録し、地域とAIが出会う瞬間を映像作品として残します。加えて、京都在住のアーティストであるBae Sangsunは、自身のスタジオで「結び」と「紐」をテーマとした関係性をかたちづくる多様な陶芸作品と絵画作品を展示します。彼女の作品は、人と人、人と場所を結ぶ象徴としての線や結び目を通して、訪れた人々に深い対話の機会を提供します。
Two artists staying at Ohara-no Studio Gallery will lead participatory projects with local residents and visitors to the open studio. AI artist Juhyun Hwang will scan the faces of community members and visitors, using AI to generate new images based on them. These generated works will be printed on-site and given to the participants, providing an interactive experience of AI. Meanwhile, filmmaker Kim Taehyun will document the process, capturing the moments when the community and AI intersect in a video work. In addition, Kyoto-based artist Bae Sangsun will exhibit a variety of ceramic and painting works in her studio, exploring relationships through the themes of “knots” and “cords.” Her works use lines and knots as symbols that connect people and places, offering visitors opportunities for meaningful dialogue.

大原野スタジオギャラリーに滞在した2名のアーティストによる成果展を開催いたします。 AI アーティストの Juhyun Hwang は、オープンスタジオで 実施した AI 生成プロジェクトの記録に加え、大原野の風景や人々をリサーチし制作した作品を展示します。 ドキュメンタリー映像作家の Kim Taehyun は、オープンスタジオで地域住民が AI と出会う瞬間を記録した映像と、大原野の暮らしをリサーチした映像作品を発表します。本展は、二つの異なる視点から描かれる「AI と人」「地域とアート」の関係性を探求するものです。
We are pleased to present an exhibition showcasing the work of two artists who completed their residency at Ohara Studio Gallery.AI artist Juhyun Hwang will exhibit documentation from his AI-generated project with local residents during the open studio, in addition to new works created through his research into Ohara’s landscapes and people. Documentary filmmaker Kim Taehyun will present his footage documenting the moment local residents encountered AI during the open studio, as well as video works created through his research into the daily life of Ohara. This exhibition explores the relationship between “AI and humans” and “community and art” through two distinct artistic perspectives. We invite you to join us for this unique event.
